The LS 600h L is the world's first vehicle to be equipped with Light-Emitting Diode (LED) headlamps for low-beam use. Not only are these headlamps more energy-efficient, they last longer than conventional bulbs. Each headlamp is fitted with five LED lights, which have a subtle blue tint, giving this LS a more modern appearance. When driving through curves, the Dual-swivel Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) allows the headlamps to turn and illuminate the road. If turning speed exceeds 19 mph, both headlamps will swivel. At lower speeds, a single headlamp rotates up to 10 degrees for right turns, and 20 degrees when turning left. LEDs can also be found in the taillamps and center stoplight. Since LED bulbs tend to illuminate faster than conventional bulbs, drivers behind you may have more time to react after you’ve stepped on the brake pedal. In addition, the outside mirrors feature puddle lamps to light your way.
