Growing up near Augusta National Golf Club, it was only natural that Charles Howell III would be attracted to golf. He first began playing at the age of seven, and by age 11 had already won five tournaments. Charles would go on to be named the 2000 NCAA champion during his junior year at Oklahoma State, breaking the NCAA Championship record by six strokes with a winning score of 23 under par.

After turning professional, Charles was named the PGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 2001. He saw his first PGA TOUR victory at the 2002 Michelob Championship at Kingsmill, and defeated Phil Mickelson in a playoff for his second victory at the 2007 Nissan Open.

Since then, Charles has continued to climb leaderboards, with multiple top-10 finishes. In 2008 he surpassed $1 million in earnings for the eighth consecutive season, finishing the year No. 69 on the money list. In 2010 Charles recorded six top-10 finishes, and in 2011 he had seven top-10 finishes, including two third-place finishes. In 2013 he finished No. 38 on the money list and No. 35 in the FedExCup.

Throughout his career, Charles has had 68 top-10 finishes while earning more than $26 million on the PGA Tour. He resides in Florida with his wife, Heather, and their two children.
