This advanced system available on the RX is designed to adapt to traffic congestion by using radar technology to help maintain a pre-set following distance from the vehicle traveling in front of you [1]. If you get too close, the throttle is automatically reduced and brakes are applied. Once the road clears, the RX will return to its pre-set speed.
