EV Mode

EV mode [1] allows the vehicle to operate at low speeds for short distances under certain conditions on the electric motor alone and will not use the gasoline engine. This technology has two major benefits: low noise and zero emissions. Maximum driving distance for EV mode is approximately one-half of a mile, depending on battery charge and driving conditions.

[1]CAUTION! When driving a hybrid vehicle, pay special attention to the area around the vehicle. Because there is little vehicle noise in electric-only mode, pedestrians, people riding bicycles or other people and vehicles in the area may not be aware of the vehicle starting off or approaching them, so take extra care while driving.
