Electronic Power Steering (EPS) allows the driver to steer while a computer analyzes driving conditions and adjusts the responsiveness accordingly. This lighter-weight system requires fewer parts, including no replacement of the power-steering fluid or pump. The result is steering that's quicker, quieter and more efficient than conventional steering methods. Plus, because the motor consumes energy only when power assist is necessary, it can even help improve fuel economy.
