SmartAccess
Using a unique secure code, the SmartAccess [1] [2] key enables you to unlock and open all four of the vehicle’s doors and its trunk without removing the transmitter from your purse, pocket or briefcase. There is no visible key cylinder. After the sensors detect the presence of your SmartAccess key—either in the form of a key fob or keycard—the door will unlock the moment you touch the handle. SmartAccess even activates the lighting entry system to illuminate your points of entry, from the exterior puddle lamps to the ignition button. Once you’re inside, all that’s required is a simple push of a button to start the engine.

[1]The SmartAccess system may interfere with some pacemakers or cardiac defibrillators. If you have one of these medical devices, please talk to your doctor to see if you should deactivate this system.
[2]The engine immobilizer is a state-of-the-art anti-theft system. The key transmits an electronic code to the vehicle. The engine will only start if the code in the transponder chip inside the key matches the code in the vehicle’s immobilizer. Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key, it can be costly to replace. If you lose a key, your Lexus dealer can help, or you can find a qualified independent locksmith to perform high security key services at www.aloa.org.
