Advanced Pre-Collision System (APCS) with Driver Attention Monitor

The world's first available Advanced Pre-Collision System [1] with Driver Attention Monitor [1] uses an infrared camera that is designed to monitor the direction of the driver's face while the vehicle is in motion. The system can warn the driver and, if necessary, gently apply the brakes to alert the driver if an object is detected ahead while the driver is facing away from the road. Once a collision is determined to be unavoidable, the system then preps the Brake Assist [2] for increased braking effectiveness once the driver applies the brakes, and it can retract the front seatbelts as well as apply the brakes to help reduce collision damage.

The system features stereo cameras to help detect three-dimensional objects in the vehicle's path, plus infrared technology to enhance nighttime operation. An Active Pedestrian Detection System [3] is designed to detect pedestrians in the vehicle's path, and can apply the brakes to help reduce vehicle speed.

Vehicle(s) shown may feature optional equipment.

MSRP does not include delivery, processing and handling fee of $875. Excludes taxes, title, license and optional equipment. Dealer price will vary.

[1]The Advanced Pre-Collision System is designed to help reduce the crash speed and damage in certain frontal collisions only. The included Driver Attention Monitor is designed to alert the driver if a potential hazard is detected ahead and the driver's face appears to be turned away. They are not collision-avoidance systems and are not substitutes for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors. Please see your Owner's Manual for further information. [2]Brake Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road conditions. [3]The Active Pedestrian Detection System, part of the Advanced Pre-Collision System, is designed to help reduce the impact speed and damage in certain frontal collisions only. It is not a collision-avoidance system and is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors, such as speed, driver input and road conditions. Please see your Owner's Manual for further information. Back to top
