Advanced Active Front Headrests

The LS is the first Lexus to offer an advanced active front headrest [1] system. When the system detects certain low-speed rear-end collisions, it is designed to instantly send a signal to an inflation device within each front seat. When triggered, these devices force the front sections of the headrests up and forward, helping to support the driver's and front passenger's head and reduce the severity of a whiplash injury.
