By allowing both headlamps to turn, the Dual-swivel Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) [1] provides better illumination around curves. When turning speed exceeds 19 mph, both headlamps will swivel to brighten the road’s curve. At lower speeds, a single headlamp rotates up to 10 degrees during right turns and 20 degrees when turning left. Standard High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps are brighter than conventional halogen headlamps, use less energy and last significantly longer. Also, for added convenience, the outside mirrors are equipped with turn-signal indicators, as well as puddle-lamp illumination to help light your way. The LS also features LED taillamps and a stoplight which last longer and illuminate faster than conventional bulbs, possibly giving drivers behind you more time to react to the brake lamps.
