Hill-Start Assist Control

Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) [1] helps increase control during hill climbing, or stopping and starting on slippery surfaces. While stopped on an incline, conventional vehicles may roll back once the driver steps off the brake. HAC, however, helps prevent this by gently applying braking pressure.

[1]HAC is designed to help minimize backward rolling on steep ascents. It is not a substitute for safe driving judgment and practices. Factors including grade, surface conditions and driver input can all affect whether HAC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. Please see your Owner's Manual for further details.
