BASIC WARRANTY
The Basic Warranty coverage is for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever
occurs first. Wheel alignment and balancing are covered for 12 months or
20,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
This warranty covers repairs and adjustments needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship of any part supplied by Lexus, except in the following situations:
- Fire, accidents or theft.
- Abuse or negligence.
- Misuse-for example, racing or overloading.
- Improper repairs.
- Alteration or tampering.
- Lack of or improper maintenance, including use of fluids other than those specified in the Warranty and Services Guide.
- Airborne chemicals, tree sap, road debris (including stone chips), rail dust, salt, hail, floods, windstorms, lightning and other environmental conditions.
- Water contamination.
- Noise, vibration, cosmetic conditions and other deterioration caused by normal wear and tear.
- Vehicles that have had their odometer tampered with so that actual vehicle mileage cannot be determined.
- Any vehicle for which the original factory-assigned vehicle identification number can't be determined.
- Any vehicle that has been issued a "salvage" title or similar title under any state's law. This also includes cars that have been declared a "total loss" or equivalent by a financial institution or insurer, such as by payment for a claim in lieu of repairs because the cost of repairs exceeded the cash value of the vehicle. This exclusion does not apply to the emission control warranties with later usage.
- Incidental or consequential damage associated with vehicle failure. Such damages include but are not limited to inconvenience; the cost of transportation, telephone calls and lodging; the loss of personal or commercial property; and the loss of pay or revenue.
- Normal maintenance services such as engine tune-ups; replacement of fluids and filters; lubrication; cleaning and polishing; replacement of spark plugs and fuses; and replacement of worn wiper blades, brake pads/linings and clutch linings.
- Tires, which are covered by a separate warranty provided by the tire manufacturer.
- The Lexus Personalized Settings (LPS) Program is a one-time, complimentary offer for new vehicles for the first 12 months from the date the vehicle is sold. HS, LS, ES and RX models with Navigation System allow the driver to change settings. Please see your Lexus dealer for more information.
POWERTRAIN WARRANTY
The Powertrain Warranty is for 72 months or 70,000 miles, whichever occurs
first. Except for the situations listed on the Basic Warranty page, this
warranty covers repairs needed to fix defects in materials or workmanship of
any component listed below:
ENGINE
Cylinder block and head and all internal parts, timing belt and cover,
flywheel, oil pan, water pump, fuel pump, engine mounts, engine control
computer, seals and gaskets:
TRANSMISSION AND TRANSAXLE
Case and all internal parts, torque converter, clutch cover, mounts, engine
control computer, seals and gaskets:
FRONT-WHEEL-DRIVE SYSTEM
Driveshaft, axle, hub, bearings, seals and gaskets:
REAR-WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM
Differential carrier assembly, driveshaft, axle carrier, axle case, axle
bearing, axle shaft, seals and gaskets:
HYBRID VEHICLE SYSTEM
Hybrid System Warranty coverage is for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever
occurs first, and covers the following components: Hybrid control module,
Hybrid battery control module, Hybrid battery and inverter with converter.

CORRORSION PERFORATION WARRANTY
This warranty covers repair or replacement of any original body panel that develops
perforation from corrosion (rust-through), subject to the exceptions listed in the
Basic Warranty page. The Corrosion Perforation Warranty coverage is for 72 months,
regardless of mileage.

scheduled maintenance. Lexus dealership technicians have extensive
expertise in keeping your vehicle running smoothly.
New Lexus Vehicles
Lexus vehicles are eligible for a "New Vehicle" VSA for 48 months or
50,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the Agreement Effective
Date.
Gold Plan
Lexus Extra Care | Gold Plan is the Lexus-backed Vehicle Service
Agreement (VSA) for customers who desire extensive protection for
most component groups in your vehicle, after the manufacturer's basic
warranty expires.
No matter which term/mileage plan you select, you will receive protection against future increases in the cost of covered repairs. You may use the coverage at any participating Lexus dealership throughout the U.S.A. and Canada. To purchase a Lexus factory-backed plan, please see your local Lexus dealer.

Powertrain Plan
The Lexus Extra Care | Powertrain Plan offers a six year/100,000-mile
Vehicle Service Agreement (VSA) for comprehensive coverage of
components directly related to the powerful Lexus Powertrain.
Vehicle Eligibility Lexus vehicles are eligible for a "New Vehicle" VSA for 48 months (or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first) from the Agreement Effective Date.
New Vehicles Lexus vehicles are eligible for a "New Vehicle" VSA for 48 months or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the Agreement Effective Date.
Used Vehicles Used Lexus vehicles, within current plus twelve model years and subject to certain mileage limits, qualify for Powertrain coverage.
Lexus Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles Powertrain protection is available at the time of Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle purchase or lease only, pursuant to the following requirements:
- Vehicle must be any Lexus MPG-Certified Model.
- Vehicle must be within current plus five model years old.
- Total vehicle mileage at the time of retail sale or lease cannot exceed 60,000 original vehicle miles.
Ineligible vehicles include taxis; shuttle, commuter, municipal, professional, emergency or police vehicles; and salvage vehicles. For further exclusions, contact your Lexus dealer.

Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP)
In the event your vehicle is declared a total loss and you find yourself owing more on the car than its current market value, GAP can offset your out-of-pocket costs, including your auto insurance deductible (in most states).
Credit Insurance Programs
Credit Life or Disability Insurance provides coverage on a finance contract or lease agreement in the case of a covered death or disability, helping to ensure your family's financial security and peace of mind.
Guaranteed Auto Protection
Whether financing or leasing, you have a financial obligation to fulfill the terms
of your contract or agreement - regardless of what happens to the vehicle. The
Lexus Financial Services Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP) program is designed to
protect Lexus owners from financial burden if the vehicle is declared a total loss.
Our goal is to provide you with the same worry-free experience you're already used
to as a Lexus owner.
If your vehicle is totaled, the net auto insurance payout can be less than what you owe on the outstanding finance or lease contract. This is where GAP comes in -- it will offset the difference, or deficiency balance, between the proceeds from your insurance company claim and the balance due on your finance or lease contract. [1]
With the GAP program, the deficiency balance is paid -- including your auto insurance deductible, up to $1,000 (available in most states). For additional convenience, GAP can be added to your monthly payment, for an even simpler transaction.
GAP is available only at the time of vehicle purchase or lease on new Lexus vehicles and on used Lexus vehicles (used vehicles may be current year plus nine model years old, with fewer than 100,000 odometer miles recorded). If you lease your Lexus through Lexus Financial Services, GAP is automatically included in Lexus Financial Services Lease Agreements. Ask your dealer for details.
How GAP Works*
The following example illustrates how GAP eliminates worry from
your Lexus ownership. Your auto physical damage insurance may be adequate to cover
certain losses related to your vehicle. However, when a vehicle is declared a total
loss, insurance companies will generally pay the market value of the vehicle less
any insurance deductible, if applicable. Depending on the age of your vehicle, this
amount may be substantially less than the balance due on your finance or lease
contract. GAP may smooth away that out-of-pocket expense.

Credit Insurance Programs
Lexus owners are savvy and prepared; they know to expect the unexpected. Credit
Insurance can provide financial security in the event you become disabled or die
before the retail contract or lease obligation is met.
Credit Life Insurance
The insurance company will pay the covered balance due on your retail contract or
lease (up to specified limits) should death occur while you are covered during the
term of insurance. Joint coverage is available (only one benefit is payable under
joint life insurance).
Credit Disability Insurance
The insurance company will pay the covered balance due on your retail contract or
lease (up to specified limits) should disability occur while you are covered during
the term of insurance.
- Hospitalization is not required for payment.
- Coverage includes injuries that occur both at and outside of work.
- Disability may be retroactive for 7, 14 or 30 days upon acceptance of your application (waiting period may vary from state to state).
