Performance Brake System

The advanced braking system on the GS helps enhance handling during sport and daily driving. Ventilated disc brakes include Brake Assist [1], an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to help enhance control during hard braking. Brake discs are ventilated for superior cooling performance. It also works in conjunction with the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management System (VDIM) [2] to help enhance control. In addition, the GS 460 features an Electronically Controlled Braking (ECB) System to help provide exceptional braking control and power.

[1]Brake Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road conditions. [2]Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) are electronic systems designed to help the driver maintain control under adverse conditions. They are not substitutes for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC and VDIM will be effective in preventing a loss of control.
