Getting Started

Just as you offer guidance and support to your customers, the Lexus Dealer Facilities Design Department offers professional design and consulting services to you, helping you create a retail environment that seeks to anticipate and seamlessly meet our customers' needs. Our expertise extends to every detail of facility planning and will work with your architect and interior designer to ensure compliance with Lexus standards and taste levels.

Process Overview and Approval Process

Step 1: The process starts with a meeting at your dealership to identify your business operations systems and minimum space requirements. Ideally, participants will include the dealer principal and staff along with the selected architect and/or builder.

Step 2: Next, working together, we develop a proposed site, a floor plan and an elevation plan.

Step 3: Then, you and your architect and/or builder will have ample opportunity to review and comment on the plan.

Step 4: The need for further discussion/modifications to the plan will arise and can be done by letter, phone, e-mail and videoconference to stimulate open dialogue and arrive at mutually beneficial solutions.

To initiate the process, we invite you to review and complete the following worksheet. Its purpose? To ensure we are asking all of the right questions so that, together, we can find our way to the right answers-for you, for us and, most importantly, for our customers.

Approval Process

Preliminary Approval: This process requires AutoCad plans of the site, floor plans of all levels and elevation views to see that it meets the minimum space requirements and Lexus Brand Standards. This saves time and money by establishing fundamental design parameters prior to preparing construction documents.

Final Approval: This is the last, and most important, step in the process. We look for construction documents that reflect the most efficient flow of people, paper and vehicles while also addressing space requirements. At minimum, this set of documents should include a site plan, building floor plan, elevation view and fascia detail plan, reflected ceiling plan and interior finishes schedule and color board.
