A 1989 inductee into the World Golf Hall of Fame, Raymond Floyd enjoyed a successful 29-year career on the PGA TOUR before joining the Champions Tour in 1992 at the age of 50.
During his career on the PGA TOUR, Raymond made the cut in more than 83% of his starts, finishing in the top25 nearly 50% of the time. He holds records as the eighth youngest winner in PGA TOUR history (20 years, 6 months, 13 days), one of the only players to win on the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour in the same year (1992), and the player with the longest stretch of time between his first and last victories (28 years, 11 months, 2 days). His 22 PGA TOUR victories (including five major championships); 14 Champions Tour victories (including four major championships); and more than 25 other International, Exhibition and Grand Champions victories are only a part of what has helped establish Raymond as a historical figure in the game of golf.
Raymond is an eight-time member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team with a 12-16-3 record, was team captain in 1989 when the matches ended in a 14-all tie at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, England, and served as Assistant Team Captain under Paul Azinger on the winning 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup team.
Floyd's credentials as a golf course designer are equally impressive as his credentials as a professional golfer. His golf course design company, Raymond Floyd Design, has designed more than 15 golf courses worldwide. He recently completed the Old Palm Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, the Turnberry Isle Resort in Miami and the unique Palm Beach Par 3 golf course, which features five "seaside" holes along the Atlantic Ocean.
