Janice Moodie

Janice Moodie

After her mother, a former six-handicap golfer, taught her how to play golf at the age of 11, Janice Moodie set her sights on a professional career. After winning several amateur events in Europe, including the 1992 Scottish Women’s Strokeplay Championship, Janice left Scotland to attend San Jose State University to play on the school’s collegiate women’s golf team.

During her college career she won 12 tournaments, including the 1995 GolfWorld/Palmetto Dunes and the 1996 Stanford Women’s Intercollegiate. After graduating in 1997, Janice turned pro and joined the LPGA Tour by finishing tied for 21st in the 1997 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament.

Janice enjoyed a successful rookie year on the LPGA Tour. With three top-10 finishes she ended up second behind Se Ri Pak in the Rolex Rookie of the Year final standings.

She has enjoyed a successful professional career since then, earning two career victories, playing on many victorious Solheim Cup and World Cup teams and earning nearly $3.5 million in Official Career Earnings. Still today, Janice is an active player on the LPGA Tour. This past season, Janice played in 21 tournaments and recorded a career-low 64 in the opening round of the 2009 Navistar LPGA Classic presented by Monaco RV, where she finished tied for fourth.
