Our tireless environmental efforts have grown out of a genuine respect and concern for our planet. To safeguard the world for future generations, we've gone beyond conventional means of leaving less of an impact. We believe our efforts, along with everyone else's, can do a world of good.
MADE FROM RENEWABLE RESOURCES AT LEED®-CERTIFIED FACILITIES.
Our main goal is a vehicle that is exceptionally lean in its use of raw materials, its fuel and its impact on the environment. We maintain several LEED-certified facilities, the premier mark of achievement in green building. They are where we build the CT, using plastics that are up to 30% renewable. Where we've developed the industry's first bamboo-charcoal resin speaker system and TSOP, an endlessly recyclable plastic that is so beneficial, we've shared it with every other car manufacturer.
FIRST IN LUXURY HYBRID TECHNOLOGY THAT'S SECOND TO NONE.
The 2006 RX 400h was the first luxury hybrid in the world. And with the introduction of the NX Hybrid in 2015, Lexus offered more hybrid models than any other auto manufacturer. Not to be outdone, we're now developing the first multistage hybrid vehicle ever. In our continued efforts to create less impact, we've actually made a big one in the hybrid category.
PROUD SPONSOR OF THE ENVIRONMENT.
Lexus continues to think green by working worldwide with engineers and scientists to fund fellowships and grants. Our environmental competition for secondary students, the Eco Challenge, is in its ninth successful year. And we continue to support and celebrate winners of the ECS Toyota Young Investigator Fellowship as they pursue projects in green energy technology. Because the more people get involved, the more the environment wins.
